Punished By Rewards
Was reading over my Facebook feed and saw Redhead Writing post this comment lamenting over the standard practice of most BIG BUSINESS that rewards new customers while penalizing existing ones.
We’ve all see the ads, commercials and email newsletters right?
And I ask you – do *you do the same thing with your business?
Businesses offer discounted services to woo new customers all the time – and we are not saying that’s bad . . . but if you offer something to NEW customers and do nothing to help the people who keep your lights on – you’re a douche.
It seems like a simple concept right? – reward those people who remain loyal to your brand – but time after time we see businesses across the board offer shiny new this, or 2 free months of that, to hook new business but when confronted to offer those same shiny hooks to loyal brand advocates . . . nada, zip, zilch.
Here at the Farm, we have been mulling over what more *we could do to help our loyal subscribers in 2011, and have come up with a pretty dang good ideas (look for the newsletter later this month).
